von Swartzschild, Cordelia

It's a Cataclysm

Full name: Cordelia Odette von Swartzschild
Nicknames/Aliases: Delia
Age: Fifteen
Date of Birth: November 10, 1995

Eyes: Ice blue
Hair: Reddish-Orange, straight and falls on her shoulders
Height: Five inches, seven inches tall
General appearance: With almost translucent skin and few freckles spilled all over her cheeks and nose, Cordelia is of medium height, and rather slight. Her hair is usually worn down (except for when she's playing soccer), and held back from face with headbands, bows or barrettes; it is naturally sleek, and almost plainly so, which is why Cordelia sometimes uses a curling machine to change it up a bit.

She is a versatile girl and with a creative fashion sense. Isn't averse of getting dolled up, though she prefers to wear as little make-up and jewerly as possible. Her everyday style (and lifestyle, too) can only be described as preppy: tights, simple but sophisticated short dresses, ballerina-like flat shoes, and cable knit sweaters.

PersonalityCordelia von Swartzschild won't take anything less than the best. Articulated, she is strong and driven, but incredibly misunderstood - or she likes to think, anyway. Heavily involved in community theater (during the summer), Bay Groove High School's Drama club, girls varsity soccer and thinking about running for class president, Cordelia is every bit of an overachiever - and a proud one at that.

She is competitive, intelligent, and athletic, though the latter is not really by choice, and only does it to fill the void that the school's musical (which only takes place on the fall) leaves, by the time winter and spring respectively comes. In truth, all she cares about is being involved in all the extra-curricular activities she can possibly manage, even if one of them DO involve wasting her time chasing after a ball. After all, if Cordelia wants to be accepted in all the IVY league Universities she's thinking of applying, her application needs to be perfect.

Delia's eye-on-the-prize, I'll-get-what-I-want attitude coupled with her tendency of wanting things TOO badly make her slightly grating - it doesn't help that, half of the time, she's always wishing to discuss all her accomplishments, such as her almost straight A's report card (damn you, Home Economics teacher), her ability to cry at will, her nearly perfect pitch, how her hair always stays in place during soccer practice, her dog only pooping where she taught it to, etc, etc, etc. The list goes on forever, and Cordelia is always yapping away about said things to the first person in the vicinity - because what's important is not that you want to hear her. What's important it's that her very important self is talking and that you LISTEN to what she has to say.
Like the type-A, uber-talented, self-involved know-it-all she is, Cordelia spends her time (what little time she's got left, anyway) alienating most of her peers. Her 'friends' are more like acquaintances, and her acquaintances fall more in the category of frenemies. Disciplined, careful, ambitious, but surprisingly impatient and impulsive, Cordelia hides her vulnerability, lack of self-esteem and self-worth behind a mask of over confidence, and a sense of entitlement that can reach massive proportions.

She's got a strong sense of organization, and this is mostly due to the fact that Delia feels that this is only way she can prove the rest of the world that, at the tender age of fourteen, she is an independent young woman. In her eyes, the world is black and white, and while she's not the most innocent of the girls, Cordelia is certainly quiet gullible and naive, which makes her an easy pray for the malice that certain folk might have especially reserved for her entirely too prissy self.

HistoryThe von Swartzschilds, unable to conceive children, and being well off, were quick on adopting, the first one being a five year old Chilean boy named Lucas, who was soon followed by a three year old, French-Canadian girl, Frances. A few years after, however, they decided that two children were not enough, and that young Frances perhaps needed a little sister, so they soon adopted a third one - and that one was, of course, Cordelia.

Though none of them were resembled the other phsysically, the von Swartzschild were as close as any other family is. They were also highly competitive, and the children soon found themselves fighting over their parents attention; naturally, said 'fight's consisted on discussing their daily accomplishments during dinner, for violence was not tolerated in the household.

The competition did not last long, however - or at least not from Lucas' part. Once reaching his teenage years, he realized that they'd been stupid and simply focused on getting good grades and been an-all round posted child. Tall, dark, handsome, popular, perfect grades, accepted in Yale's pre-law... and this, of course, only fueled the competition between Frances and Cordelia even more.

All in all, however, they are perfectly normal family, and though it sometimes doesn't look like it (well, actually, it NEVER looks like) Frances is Cordelia's best -and perhaps only- friend. Though she'd never admit it, she dearly misses her big sister, now that's gone to some well-known University in the Upper East Side of New York.

Liketea, jogging, chocolate, kittens, puppies, headbands, gloves, singing, kids, show-tunes, indie boys and hipsters, musicals, plays (anything involving theater, really), tap, showing the world what an outstanding performer she is, her kitten, herself, the sound of her own voice, New York, plaids, ribbons, summer <3, milk, cinnamon, brown eyes, talking about herself, and instrumental music.
Dislikes: vanilla, sandals, her toes, the color red, rainy days, gray eyes, the dark, poetry, sparkles, blackberries, grapes, airports, elevators, cleavages, provacative clothing or really tighting fitting jeans, and cheese.
