McKensie, Ian

WWN DJ - Teen!Witch Columnist
Past SS Character

Full name: Ian Bradley McKensie
Nicknames/Aliases: Idiot (Colby's favourite), Devil's Offspring (Mrs. Mason, his old neighbor), and Brat (people in general)
Age: Eighteen.
DOB: March 31st, 2055
POB: Glasgow, Scotland
Heritage: Half and half
Education: Homeschooled up til he was fifteen, before attending to Hogwarts for a year, as a Ravenclaw student. He concluded his studies in Beauxbatons Academy of Magic.
Occupation: Host of WWN's Of Shattered Snitches and Golden Hearts. He also has a column on Teen!Witch magazine, titled Ask Ian
Wand: Swishy, Cottonwood wand. Eleven and three quarters inches long, hippocampus mane.

Hair: Brown, messy and in large quantities. Ian's hair is a bird's nest.
Eye colour: Dark blue
Height: 5’10”
Weight: LOL wut.
Build: Slim, kind of skinny and gangly.

Appearance: Ian's face is round, sun kissed and very freckled. His dark blue eyes are wide and childlike, framed by very dark lashes, and thick
eyebrows that don't exactly compliment him, but don't make him look terrible either. His brown hair is all over the place, and Ian only does anything to it when his mum makes him attend some sort of important event where there'll most likely be pictures involved.

McKensie had a late grow spurt during the summer, so hovering around 5'10 as he is right now, he's not yet comfortable with his newly acquired height. He's way too lanky, and the grow spurt seemingly came with clumsiness, for he's been lately falling over and running into things.

Personality: Sure of himself, Ian will often quip you about random facts that you probably didn’t need or want to know, and also enjoys quoting sayings and famous books just because he wants people to think he is smart. Which he is, but due to his sometimes overly excited nature and occasional goofy attitude, some people tend to think he is not, and that he needs discipline – which he undoubtedly does need.

Given that he comes from a big family, shy, quiet or guarded aren't terms that can describe the boy. He's friendly, loud, a little pretentious and somewhat naive. Ian trusts people easily, and is quick to call them friends even if the opposite party doesn't feel the same way about him.

Due to the fact that Ian cherises the handful of friends he’s got, he’s very protective when it comes to them (and of his sisters and older brother, though he would never admit that). Deadly afraid of flying even if he DOES love to watch Quidditch, Ian has a metal plate on his head for falling off the roof of his house when he was five years old. He secretly wishes to be the hero who will save the world.

History: The McKensie's aren't part of the rich and famous of the Wizarding World society, though they do live well enough. Ian's father writes books for children, while his mom is the chef of her own restaurant located in Glasgow. He grew up in a house surrounded, naturally, by good and large meals as well as more books than he cared to read, though he certainly read quite a few of them.

Due to his hyperactive and mischievous nature, Ian and his siblings had several nannies throughout his childhood, each and everyone of them not lasting over week. It was because of this that her parents decided to not send him and his brother Colby to Hogwarts; they did not think them (especially Ian) mature enough to go live in a place where the ratio of teenagers and kids as one hundred times bigger than those of adults. It wasn't until his fifteen birthday that his parents allowed them to go, and even then, his time at Hogwarts was brief; by the time his fifth year ended, Colby was offered a position in a prestigious cooking school, and that meant Ian could no longer attend to the school anymore. There was no one to watch over him.

Because one of his aunts works at Beauxbtons as a professor, he was saved from being homeschooled again and was sent to the French school instead. There he stayed until he finished his magical education, and learned the importance of showers, and how when it comes to girls, the crazy ones can often turn out to be the most fun to hang around.

Extras: Ian’s biggest fear is to find out that, when he went to Hogwarts, he was mistakenly sorted into Ravenclaw.
Likes: Food, books, food, lazing around, food, creeping on his old neighbor to see if she really does eat children (he used to, anyway), food, picking on Colby, food, girls, and, surprisingly, food.
Dislikes: Lauren the Stalker, his sisters and Colby (not really, but don’t tell), doing homework, having to wake up early, due dates, and being poked in the eye by Colby.

Family
-Daniel McKensie [dad. 45]
-Charlotte McKensie [mum, 43]
-Colby McKensie [brother, 20]
-Morgan McKensie [sister, 14]
-Greer and Ainsley McKensie [twin sisters, 11]

Allergies: Ian is allergic to Hippogriffs’ feathers, peanut butter and giggles.
Pets: No Name Jarvey and Charlotte Marie the Scorpion. For now. UPDATE--Charlotte Marie suffered an unfortunate death, and Jarvey was stolen (read: left there by him after he grew bored of looking after it) at the park. Ian claims to be scarred enough to never get a pet gain, but he might change his mind one of these days.
Old pets: A hamster (dead), a chicken (dead, too), a fish that he ate because he was hungry and Colby would not hurry with the food, and a bunny he left at the park because it tried to bite his nose.
